A long time ago, in a city, not too far away from Austin, there lived a cartoonist who had nothing better to do that draw silly cartoons for herself.  This cartoonist soon joined a support group for Transgendered Folk called Boulton and Park, and spent the first meeting mostly sketching the people around her.

This caught the eye of Linda Phillips and Tere Frederickson, who ran the groups monthly newsletter.  They asked for a few comic strips, and, lo, "A Different Perspective" was born.

Who knew that eight years later, that it would evolve into the Closetspace we all know and sort of love?

In September 1992, "A Different Perspective" appeared in Boulton and Park's "Gender Euphoria," with this strip. The "T Party" was Boulton and Park's yearly convention, and I made a strip with a joke that had probably been made a million times.  The strip had no real recurring characters, although one was always a crossdresser or transsexual.

For the 3rd Anniversary, I managed to find the originals tucked away at the University of Texas' Institute of Texan Cultures, of all places.  They were photocopied at high quality, scanned in, cleaned up and colored.  Hope you like 'em!
